So, fifteen years on and we’re still bringing you fantastic poems and short fiction from around the world.
Oh my goooooood! A lot has happened in 15 years – we’ve lost a few editors along the way (but they’ve not wandered too far, we still meet up for food and drinks when we can), and I have more grey hair than is good for a girl and both me and Martin have more wrinkles than we care to think about – which is unfair because Brittle Star seems to be unaging (I suspect we might well be its painting in the attic). The magazine has had a few make-overs, though, and now is full of really wonderful articles and reviews of first full collections – which we’re very proud of. And we’ve kept a healthy subscription base, even in the lean years (which we’re also proud of), and we’re launching our second Writing Competition (this time judged by the lovely Alison Moore and George Szirtes along with me!).
We’re doing all this at our next launch for Issue 37, so come and join us at the Barbican library on Weds, 14 October at 7pm (doors open at 6.30) and share some amazing poems and stories and some Brittle Star Birthday Cake! (that deserves capital letters and the exclamation mark!) www.barbican.org.uk/library Book your FREE ticket now: 020 7638 0569 or by email barbicanlib@cityoflondon.g
See you there,

I’m a relative newbie to Brittle Star… just been there for the last 16 months or so. Really like the magazine and the work inside, and the presentation is just beautiful. So pleased to have some of my writing included in its pages. Thanks. And Happy Birthday to one and all.
