All of a sudden our deadline for issue 34 is looming and we haven’t even had our tea yet!
Luckily we’ve been sent an astonishing number of submissions to choose from – too many in fact, so selecting the work for this issue has been quadruply hard. Along with the eagerly-awaited entries from the winners of our first writing competition, we have work from some amazing poets and short fiction writers, Sarah Passingham and Andrew Bailey‘s regular columns, an article from Agnes Meadows from Loose Muse on women’s writing, Paul Blake‘s poetry reviews, translations of work from Russian poets Afanasy Afanasyevich Fet and Nikolay Alexeyevich Zabolotsky by Robert Chandler, and the Competition judges’ reports from Mimi Khalvati and David Constantine.
We’re launching all of this on 16th July at the Barbican Library, London. Join us, Mimi, David, and our readers as we sip a glass of Pimms, eat a strawberry or two, and listen to poetry and short stories from contributors to Brittle Star and the winners of our competition.
Wednesday, 16th July, 6.30 for 7pm at the Barbican Library, Silk St, London, EC2Y 8DS. Entry is FREE, but space is limited so please contact the Library on 020 7638 0569 for tickets.
